Sisters of the Order of the Family of Mary
The school was delighted to welcome four sisters from the Order of the Family of Mary who were in Thurles last week for the first mass of Fr. Niall O’Riordan. Fr. O’Riordan, a native of Thurles parish was ordained in Rome before Christmas. The sisters spoke to each year group about happiness. They talked about the difference between momentary happiness that fades over time and the deep rooted happiness that lasts much longer. The sisters showed the girls a picture of our Lady of all Nations and had a prayer card for each student. Their message to the students was to listen to God’s voice in their heart and have the courage to follow it.
On Tuesday night some of our Sixth Year students received their silver medals at a Gaisce awards ceremony in The Source. The school was delighted that 11 students received silver medal for the four tasks they completed last year. On the night the students in attendance enjoyed music and a wonderful motivational speech from Muster Rugby player Niall Scannell. Thanks to Ms. Egan and Ms. Bourke for their tireless promotion of the President’s Award in the school.
