Before the Easter break eighteen Ursuline students participated in a two-day Lions Club/ Intel Ideation Camp. The students were divided into group with other students from secondary schools in the Thurles area. Each group was then assigned a case study for which the group had to suggest solutions using the Intel problem solving process. The Ursuline representatives on the winning team were Aileen Butler and Sinead O’Quigley. This team will now go forward to the next stage of the competition at Intel on April 20. The Ursuline Secondary School would like to thank the Lions Club for their commitment and hard work. Good luck to the two girls in the next stage.

The Senior B hockey team played in the Senior B League Final against Rockwell this week but were unfortunate to be beaten 1-0. The Junior B team also had an important match this week as they played Clonakilty in the Junior B Cup Semi-Final. The Junior B team played very well and managed to take the victory 2-1. First Year (France) also took on Rockwell in the League Final and scored an impressive four goals to take the victory 4-1. Well done to all.

As summer approaches the tennis racquets are out again. The Under-14 Tennis team played against John the Baptist, Hospital in the Shield. The girls played extremely well and beat their adversaries. Meanwhile the Under-16 also played a Shield game against St. Anne’s, Tipperary Town. Unfortunately St. Anne’s proved the better team on the day and the Ursuline team was defeated.
