ST ANGELA’S ACADEMY OF MUSIC:
Nurturing musical creativity and enjoyment for all ages and abilities
The Ursuline has been a centre of musical learning for over two centuries, while St Angela’s Academy of Music as we know it today was established in the early 1990s.
The school is run by Sr Cecilia O’Dwyer and employs more than 20 teachers in all disciplines of music, including piano, voice, strings, woodwind, brass, percussion, traditional, pre-instrumental and theory. Over 500 instrumental lessons are delivered each week.
Our facilities include two ensemble rooms, two grand pianos and over 25 rooms available for practice and tuition.
St Angela’s Academy is affiliated to the Ursuline Secondary School and the Scoil Angela Primary School, all located on the same school grounds. However, the Academy is open to anyone who wishes to learn music and is delighted to accept external students from the surrounding area.
The school’s philosophy is to provide a musical education in an environment which encourages students to explore, enjoy and perform music to the best of their potential.
