Both the Junior and Senior team were successful in the first round of the Gael Linn competition and are presently awaiting information regarding their next motions and fixtures.

GERMAN DEBATING 2013-2014

Team; Katie Cody, Jane Cheasty, Eimear Teehan, Catriona Skehan and Aoife Delargy.

The Senior German Debating team participated in the debating competition run by the Goethe Institute this term. The first motion was based on the idea that Irish students go to school too young. The team debated against Scoil Mhuire agus Ide from Newcastle West and performed very well to win the debate. The second debate was against Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré. The motion was centred on the notion that girls can’t do science! The Ursuline team was proposing the motion and the motion was defeated. Well done to all those who participated.
